The Vashon Island
Strawberry Festival™ is a treat for the senses. There is always an
abundance of great food, refreshments and fun times for all ages! Some
highlights include:
The Grand Parade, the Classic Car parade, the Bill Burby Fun Run, Kiwanis
Pancake breakfast, music throughout the day, both Saturday and Sunday,
Saturday night street dances and fabulous food & vendor booths (open on
Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm) to pour over. Vashon artists will
again be featured in Ober Park by the main stage. Many of these artists
will also be open Friday evening from 6-9 pm. This year, as it has for the
last five years, the Voice of Vashon, the Island's Internet Radio station,
will descend from its studios atop Sunrise Ridge and set up shop by the US
Bank as the principal supplier of Festival audio along the parade route.
All of VoV's deejays will participate in the fun, all day long, both days,
with live and recorded music, commentary and interviews with noteworthy
and no-so-noteworthy Festival Goers. Stop by and say hello to the VoV gang
at their volunteer booth in front of the US Bank stage. New this year is
VoV TV! Highlights from the Festival will be seen on Comcast channel 21
each evening and throughout the next year.

The Grand Parade holds an endearing spot in our community's heart. From
the decorated merchant and non-profit floats to the Thriftway shopping
cart drill team, the marching bands and costume clad Allied Arts folks you
can count on a fantastic show. This year Voice of Vashon personalities
Jeff Hoyt and Jeanne Dougherty will announce the parade from the VoV
deejay booth in the US Bank parking lot, as well as mingling with and
interviewing the parade participants themselves.
